What was your “low point”? Realizing I don’t have a lot of pictures with my kids because I didn’t like how I looked. I had lost most of my pregnancy weight after having my kids but over the past 10-12 years have slowly put on the weight. I had never had that problem before.

How did you get started? I started coming to bootcamp regularly in August 2014. I signed up for the Rock Your Jeans Challenge. At the end of the challenge, I had lost about half the weight that I wanted to lose. I really did not make any changes to my diet during the challenge. I was just coming to the bootcamp classes. At the end, I knew I could’ve done so much better had I made some changes. So, this spring I couldn’t wait to sign up for the Biggest Loser Challenge!! I made sure to follow the meal plans provided for us and made it to at least 3 classes per week. By the end of the challenge, I was at my goal weight. In cycle class one day, Adina asked us when in our life we were our healthiest. As soon as she asked that question, my thought was “right now”! I have been “thinner” than I am now but I am definitely in the best physical shape than I have ever been.

What is your workout routine and eating plan? I try to attend at least 3 bootcamp or studio classes a week. I also try to run at least 2 days per week.


What are your top 3 favorite resources that helped you along the way?

1.)Of course the Livefit classes, coaches and community. The challenges really hold me accountable.

2.)I love My Fitness Pal app! It really was an eye opener to see how many calories are in certain foods. I try to plan ahead my meals for the day. I will put them all in the night before. This helps hold me accountable and keeps me on track. If I am eating out, I try to look ahead at the restaurants website or put it in the app to try and make a healthy choice and stay within my calorie range.

3.) The meal plan given to us during the Biggest Loser Challenge! I hate to use the word “diet” for this plan. It has helped me make the changes I needed to make in my eating habits so that there is no need to “diet”.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting? Just get started. That is always the hardest part. I’ve read that if you can commit to it for 30 days, after that it becomes a habit and a lifestyle. It surely has for me. I can’t stand to miss a class now!

What one piece of advice would you give to someone who is in the process but is feeling discouraged? Just stick with it! We all have days we don’t feel like going to class or we eat something we shouldn’t, but the next day just get back on track.
