My Takeaways from 2019 Spring Todd Durkin Mastermind Retreat

If you haven’t heard me talk about my “other” fitness family, let me introduce you.  In 2017, I attended a mentorship retreat hosted by one of my fitness mentors, Todd Durkin (follow this guy and you’ll see why I am a fan).  Todd creates MAJOR IMPACT in his life  Hands down, he is one of the most energetic and passionate people I’ve ever met.

Once the mentorship retreat was over, I immediately joined his Mastermind coaching program where I am connected with fitness professionals all over the world.  I have a coach who challenges me with quarterly goals and monthly calls.  It’s an investment I made into myself and LiveFIT that has given back to me in endless ways.

I often “retreat” to get a little break and fill back up.  I look forward to connecting with other like minded people and share ideas and inspiration.  It’s truly something that has kept LiveFIT alive during some challenging seasons of my life.

This year’s theme was MANIFESTING GREATNESS and here are a few of my takeaways:

1.) It’s not about the event as much as it is about the CONNECTIONS.

Todd’s energy is contagious.  His messages and inspiration always fire me up.  However just as important, are the connections I make.  This year 13 fitness professionals submitted applications to be the Todd Durkin Mastermind Fit Pro of the Year.  Todd read each application to us.  The room was filled with emotion as we heard about the impact these people have made in their communities.  The most impactful things were the kind of things where they GAVE BACK.  Not to benefit their business but because these people are LIFE CHANGERS.  I was moved and inspired to do MORE and follow these amazing leaders closer.

2.)  Sometimes you have to give up GOOD to be GREAT.

LiveFIT has had some good years.  But I truly feel the greatest ones are the ones ahead of us.  The opportunity we have with The Yard is one that cannot fully be appreciated today.  I cannot wait for each of you to experience the GREATNESS we want for each of you.

3.) BELIEVE in what you create.

Sometimes I’m all over the place, to be honest.  I constantly want to change the schedule to accommodate everyone’s requests.  I let criticism and comments get to me more than I should.  I realize you cannot please everyone and you cannot accommodate everyone’s needs as much has I WANT TO.  That is a tough one for me.  When Jenny and I sit down and make schedule decisions (and that schedule is the devil himself, believe me) we think of each of your faces.  I was brought back to the statement… you must BELIEVE in what you create.

4.)  Sometimes you have to SLOW DOWN to SPEED UP.

Profound wisdom is found in the whispers.  (read that again)  Have you been to a parenting or marriage conference or retreat?  If so you understand.  Sometimes you have to step away from life/business to work ON your life/business.

That is not a new statement yet I cannot hear it enough.  Successful people face adversity.  Challenges and adversity are an opportunity for growth.  YES.

I’m on my last flight home as I type this.  And I’m still PUMPED.  I commit to having my own action steps to DO MORE.  To BE MORE.  And I cannot wait to prove the level of love I have for each of you and your life.  Let’s make 2019 a year worth remembering.

Here for you,  Adina
